While addressing the closing ceremony of Bastar Pandum, which was organized to introduce the country and the world to the rich tribal culture of Bastar, Union Home Minister Amit Shah bluntly attacked Naxalism. He said that today I have brought blessings from Maa Danteshwari that by the next Chaitra Navratri, red terror should end from here, and our Bastar should be prosperous.
Addressing the large number of tribals gathered at the event, he said that this year ‘Bastar Pandum’ was celebrated as a festival of Bastar. But I have come with a message from Modi ji. Next year, we will bring artists from every tribal district of the country here with the same name – Bastar Pandum. Not only this, to give international status to Bastar Pandum, the BJP government will bring the ambassadors of the world who are in the capital to Bastar and spread our traditions, culture, and the art of tribal children to the whole world.
Amit Shah said that from March 12 till today, the district administration and the culture department have allocated Rs 5 crore, which is the first such big cultural event. This Pandum will work to promote and preserve local art and culture, traditional folk arts, crafts, festivals, food, dialects, customs, costumes, jewellery, musical instruments, traditional songs and music, cuisine, beverages – all of these in their original form.
The Home Minister said that we want the youth of Bastar to get the most modern education. They should compete with the youth of the world on every platform. They should get the prosperity of the world, but they should never forget their culture, their language, their traditions. This culture of Bastar, the dialects of Bastar, the songs here, the musical instruments here, the drinks, the food… it is not only important for Chhattisgarh. It is the jewel of the culture of India, we have to preserve it.
