Raipur: The infection rate for COVID-19 has reached 9.88 percent in Chhattisgarh today as 19 people have died in this one day. After about 10 days, the infection rate has reached this low. Despite this, the deaths are portraying a different picture as this is the biggest loss of lives in the third wave. There has been a stir in the state’s health department regarding this.

In most infected district of Chhattisgarh, Raipur, the number of new patients increased to 957. Durg remained the second most infectious district with 710 new patients. Of the total 19 who died, there were 4 from Durg and Raipur districts respectively.

Meanwhile, doctors of Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Hospital successfully operated on a patient for a tumor in the heart. Department of Vascular Surgery conducted an open heart surgery and the news was tweeted by the Health Department of Chhattisgarh. The success of this surgery comes as a big relief for the health department amid the COVID crises.
