Controversies have rocked the world of former minister and BJP legislator Ajay Chandrakar after Congress came crashing down on him, accusing him of not being included in the Sai cabinet expansion. Reacting to the attack, Chandrakar said that Congress itself will have to tell how it treated leaders like Dhanendra Sahu and Satyanarayan Sharma in Bhupesh Baghel’s cabinet before posing questions. He stressed that expansion of the cabinet is the prerogative of the Chief Minister only, and the newly formed one is more balanced, new-fangled, and composed of skillful people.
Commenting on the former Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, who dubbed the Sai cabinet expansion as unconstitutional, Chandrakar said that Baghel must address his own party and make the comment on social media. Describing how 14 ministers in Haryana are to be learnt by Congress leaders, he said.
Chandrakar was also highly critical of the organizational restructuring program of the Congress, terming its office bearers as puppets. In his opinion, the Congress has never been able to find mass leaders, those whose allegiance is to the Gandhi family. They refer to these kinds of leadership as not representing the people: they are just puppets who only think and act to satisfy the Gandhi family, he asserted. According to him, in Chhattisgarh Congress has probably not found so many puppets; that is why its organization development has been postponed.
Besides the Congress, Chandrakar also lamented about the State Women’s Commission Chairman Kiranmayee Nayak, blaming her act in handling the Narayanpur religious conversion controversy. He claimed that the Commission was working under a political agenda when Bajrang Dal men were booked, when local girls complained against them. Having said that, Chandrakar emphasized that, as opposed to being politically motivated, such issues must be examined objectively and not constructed. He was insistent that investigations should be carried out in compliance with the law and the manifesto promises and not based on the spectrum of partisan politics.
