Bilaspur: Ahead of the festive season, the Bilaspur police carried out a combing operation on Wednesday night and checked vehicles passing through sensitive and strategic locations. A flag march was also carried out at selective crossroads.
During the operation, the police seized Rs 20 lakh in cash from a vehicle, they also confiscated firearms that were possessed illegally. Around 15 cases were registered under the MV Act on charges of drinking and driving.
The combing operation was carried out by Additional SP, Bilaspur SP, Civil Line SP, SP Kotwali, Deputy SP of traffic police and PS in charge. Such combing operations would continue in the future as well to keep law and order situation in the city under control said a police officer.
