RAIPUR: Launching a scathing attack at the Centre, CM Baghel alleged that the Modi govt is misusing its powers and trying to weaken its strongest contenders.

Responding to questions by reporters on his opinion about Rahu Gandhi vacating the government bungalow, Baghel said, ” Question center leads to revoked LS membership, bungalow vacating.” “The freedom of speech- the right given to every individual is being snatched. If a media house or an opposition party speaks against the union govt or raises questions about its actions, serious actions like disqualifications or suspensions are being taken”. People are being punished for asking questions, continued the CG Chief minister.

Baghel also stressed the delayed approval of the Reservation quota bill that was passed in December by the legislative assembly. ” The BJP is hellbent on turning our democracy on its head. It only determines to collect votes spreading hatred. Admissions in the state have been stalled because of the delay, people are struggling for jobs, added Baghel.”

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi was seen moving his belongings today from his 12, Tughlaq Lane residence.

The former Lok Sabha MP was asked to vacate the government bungalow by April 22 after his disqualified by the Lok Sabha Secretariat, effective March 23. He was also sentenced to two years of jail by a Surat court in a 2019 criminal defamation case.

Rahul Gandhi was allotted a bungalow in Lutyens’ Delhi after his election as a Lok Sabha MP in 2004.
