Takhatpur: It has gone to run a clinic in the disguise of a medical store, which has put a quack doctor on the wrong side of the law. In an operation conducted by the joint team of the Health Department headed by Deputy Tehsildar Mrs Richa Gupta, three clinics were sealed by the administration. The High Court happened on hearing cases of diarrhoea and malaria and took it suo moto to act against the quack doctors in the state.
Among them, one of the clinics was sealed under Aman Medical’s name. It was rather shocking to learn that the quack doctor managing this clinic was found with substandard medicines. The joint team tightened the knot over these people, particularly Balram Singh Dhruv, Sunita Vishwas, and Swapna Sarkar of Gram Panchayat Khairi, who were in the Takhatpur block.
When conducting the raid, it was established that these people calling themselves medical practitioners were carrying out business without licenses and administering drugs that had not complied with the set quality standards. The availability of such substandard drugs is dangerous to the health of the society since there is an outbreak of diseases such as diarrhoea and malaria.
The High Court’s intervention was timely, given that this is a rare but emerging case in the state. No doubt, thanks to this activity of the court, the local authorities woke up and hit the paperwork to address the issue of unregulated medical provision. This operation was cooperatively implemented to fight the quack doctors who were contributing to the spreading of the disease.
Deputy Tehsildar Richa Gupta wanted to point out that we must ensure that professional personnel provide medical services. She added that there are continued actions to close all the clinics operating illegally and bring perpetrators to book. They also called on the population to be cautious and provide information on suspicious health activities.
The administration has directed the Health Department to conduct regular cleanliness assessments and encourage adherence to medical practices.
