Raipur: Suspended ADG GP Singh was brought to BR Ambedkar Hospital Raipur on Friday after he complain of skin irritation and ophthalmological issues. The 1994 batch IPS officers’ bail plea was rejected by a Raipur sessions court on 14th February. However, special Judge Leena Agarwal, on the accused officer’s application granted permission for the family members to meet him. The court also permitted the officer to seek medical help in case of any ailments.
After absconding for a long time, GP Singh was detained by EOW officials a month ago in Noida. After which he was produced to a court in Raipur which extended his judicial custody.
The fugitive officer is currently under judicial remand until 28th February. Singh has been subjected to long interrogation hours and custody since his arrest. He has been demanding bail claiming the agency held a partial investigation which accused him of unrelated allegations.
The ACB and EOW officials in July 2021, raided the former IPS officer and ADG Chiefs’ residence and 13 other locations. Based on the search they claimed GP Singh was involved in illicit transactions and held disproportionate assets.
