Raipur: Adani has become a significant issue for the Congress in the state assembly elections. Alongside Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, Deepak Baij, the President of the State Congress Committee, has shared a poster on social media showing a picture of Adani with VVPAT. The caption reads, ‘If you press the lotus button, Adani will emerge.’ The Chhattisgarh Pradesh Congress Committee has released the poster.

The move comes after the Supreme Court on Friday deferred a hearing in the Adani-Hidenburg row. the apex court shall now hear the matter on October 20.

This move highlights the Congress’s intention to make Adani’s business interests a focal point of discussion in the upcoming elections. By associating Adani with the lotus button, a symbol of the rival Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), they aim to raise concerns about the alleged influence of business conglomerates in politics.

Adani Group, led by billionaire Gautam Adani, has been a prominent player in India’s business landscape, interested in diverse sectors, including infrastructure, energy, and logistics. The Congress’s strategy is to underscore potential connections between powerful business figures and the political establishment.

As election season approaches, the poster serves as a provocative statement and a potential rallying point for the Congress party. It reflects their effort to harness public sentiment regarding corporate influence and economic policies and to project Adani’s image as symbolic of such influence. The Chhattisgarh election is anticipated to witness intense debates on various issues, and Adani’s inclusion as a political talking point demonstrates the dynamic nature of political discourse in the region.
