On the first day of the vaccination rollout for the geriatric and co-morbid citizens, it is estimated that over 29 lakh individuals registered through the Arogya Setu app; the Union Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan said. “I had checked the data before speaking with you… till 8.30 pm over 29 lakhs, people have registered on the platform. And, you see, if one person registers, she/he has the facility of registering for four family members,” he said.

As per the tally by the MoHFW; the country recorded 11,597 fresh infections holding the cumulative count at 1,11,23,653 since the initiation of the pandemic. The active count is noted to be 1,65,207 on the other hand the recuperated individuals have increased to 1,07,96,583 with new recoveries in the past 24 hours. The mortality rate is reported as 1.4% with 81 new fatalities accounting for 1,57,276 deaths overall.

Amongst all the states; Maharashtra still records the highest number of fresh COVID cases, while Kerala has shown a drastic drop in its infected count. The north-eastern states of the country show a positive graph of COVID-19; increasing the recuperation on a daily basis.

As per sources 21,68,58,774 individuals have been tested so far. It is reported that the nation has inoculated 1.47 Crore on Monday (1st March). 25 lakh beneficiaries registered on the Co-Win portal. Out of which 24.5 Lakh were citizens and the rest Health care workers and Frontline workers.
