Raipur: Contractual workers of Chhattisgarh govt are staging an all day demonstration in all 28 district HQs today demanding regularization of service.
The protestors have begun a Tiranga march and hand over a memorandum detailing their demands to the local administration, MLAs and MPs in their respective areas. Kaushlesh Tiwari, president of CG Sarav Vibhagiya Samvida Karamchari Mahasangh , an umbrella body of govts contractual employees organization, an active participant of the day long protest said that the employees would continue the strike if the demands were not met.
The demands in the MoU were 1- Re appointment or arrangement of alternative employment for guest lecturers who were removed from service following appointment of regular Assistant Professors
2. Release salary on completion of services on time
More than 30,000 contractual employees from 54 departments of state govt have been wearing tricolour arm bands in protest against the step motherly treatment of Congress govt towards them since August 22nd.
Over all 4.50 lakh regular staffers of the state government are already on indefinite strike since August 22 demanding 34 per cent dearness allowance and House Rent Allowance at par with 7th Pay Commission.
