DURG: The Durg police nabbed 9 operators of the Online Betting App Mahadev from Noida in UP. This took the total number of arrests in connection to the app to 150.
The accused include a college student from NIT Coimbatore. Based on the inputs, it is learned that the college student was involved in the racket for 8 months and conducted transactions worth Rs 10 crore.
The Durg police sought the arrest under operation Hunter. The accused arrested are said to be a part of the Lion Group in Sector 58 of Greater Noida. 6 out of the 9 arrested are said to be residents of Bhilai.
Three laptops and 9 mobile phones have been recovered from them, said the police at the press conference. Sonu, another accused involved in the racket has been revealed. Currently, he is absconding however, a notice is issued against him to surrender within 48 hours. The police also learned that Sonu was the head of 5 branches of the app across the country and recruited operators.
