RAIPUR: The country’s seventh plastic park will be built in Chattisgarh, said an official. An outlay of about 75per cent required for the establishment of the park has been approved by the central government.
52 separate plots will be made in the park each of which will be allotted to industrial companies. The State Industrial Development Corporation has been instructed to set up the Plastic park.
To meet the domestic demands for plastic with the growth of the construction and infrastructure sector, the Ministry of Chemicals & Fertilizers (MoCF), had formulated a scheme for setting up plastic parks that will reduce imports.
Four such parks are built in Assam (Tinsukia), Madhya Pradesh (Raisen), Odisha (Jagatsinghpur), and Tamil Nadu (Thiruvallur). Odisha has become the first state to start working on developing a ‘Plastic Park’, located in the Jagatsinghpur district.
