Raipur: After receiving complaints related to illegally operated firms, drug supply chain and fake cosmetics being sold in the market, Health Minister Shyam Bihari Jaiswal had directed the Food and Drug Administration Department to run a special campaign at the state level. Under this campaign, a team of 78 drug inspectors across the state has conducted intensive raids and taken action against 170 institutions.
In Raipur district, the drug department team raided Laxmi Enterprises located in Bhatgaon and seized phenyl and handwash products (total worth ₹4.5 lakh) being manufactured without license. Similarly, a raid was conducted at Shola Industries located in Gudhiyari on the complaint of unlicensed soap and handwash manufacturing activities. Raw material, containers, labeling and packaging material (about ₹2 lakh) were recovered from there.
The drug department conducted a narcotics test at the Aushadhi Vatika located in Dumratarai, where irregularities were found in the records and register of narcotic drugs at M/s Venor. During the inspection, some fake prescriptions were also recovered, on the basis of which a notice has been issued to the concerned firm.
Medicines were found to be stored without license in M/s Akash Bangles and Cosmetics located in Telipara of Bilaspur district, from where medicines worth ₹30,000 were confiscated and action was taken. 5 samples were taken from cosmetic shops of Telipara and Vyapar Vihar of the same area. These have been sent for testing.
Action was also taken against medicines being sold without license in Rose Life, Purani Hatri of Raigarh district. At the same time, legal action was taken by confiscating allopathic medicines from Dhaneshwar Devangan’s clinic in Bhatgaon, Dhamtari.
