JAGADLPUR: On the occasion of Int’l Women’s day, a team of female bikers of the CRPF will embark on a 1,848 km long expedition from Delhi to one the most dangerous area of CG-the Left Wing Extremist-dominated areas.
A team of 75 bikers from India’s largest paramilitary force will flag off their journey from India Gate on 9th March and conclude in the south Bastar Region in Jagdalpur on March 25th. The convoy would be flagged in by Union Minister Amit Shah at the CoBRA camp in the Karanpur area of Jagdalpur, the district HQs of Bastar.
The 84th Raising day of the paramilitary force will also be held in Jagdalpur on March 25t. This would be the first time the annual event is being held in an LWE-affected area.
The CRPF was raised in 1939 and the annual day of March 19 holds significance for the force as India’s first home minister Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel presented the Presidential colors to it in 1950.
The country’s largest CAPF with about 3.25 lakh personnel is designated as the lead national internal security force operating in three main domains of Left Wing Extremism, counter-insurgency operations in the Northeast, and counter-terrorist operations in Jammu and Kashmir.
