Bilaspur. In Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh, on the instructions of Collector Avnish Sharan, the Mineral and Revenue Department is continuously taking strict action against illegal mining and transportation. On December 6, a joint team of both the departments took immediate action on receiving a complaint of illegal sand excavation and transportation in village Karhikchar.
The Mineral Department has seized 7 Hiva vehicles found involved in sand transportation and has kept them under police protection at Belgahna police station. The Revenue Department has also seized 4 Hiva and 4 tractors, which have been kept for security at the Tehsil office. In all these cases, the concerned authorities are registering cases as per rules and taking action.
A notice has also been issued to the operator of Karhikchar sand mine. Apart from this, the team of the Mineral Department has seized 4 tractors transporting illegal sand in Ghutku, Kachhar and Pendarva areas and kept them for security in Koni police station.
Joint action by the Mineral Department, Revenue Department and Police Department is underway on illegal mining, transportation and storage of minerals. The Forest Department is also taking strict action in cases of illegal mining and transportation of minerals in forest areas.
