Kawardha: The diarrhea outbreak is continuously spreading in Kabirdham district. Two women have died again in Sarenda, a dependent village of village Jhalmala, a Baiga-dominated area, one of whom was pregnant. Let us tell you that 7 people have lost their lives in the district due to diarrhea within a month. Even after this, the gross negligence of the PHE department has come to the fore. In a locality of Sarenda, water containing worms, mud and moss is being supplied without cleaning the tank.

Diarrhea is spreading in the villages of the district due to drinking dirty water and seasonal diseases. Diarrhea outbreak has been seen in Koyalari, Gopal Bhavana, Daihandih Sonwahi villages within a month. So far 7 people have lost their lives in these villages within a month. Congress leader and District Panchayat member Tukaram Chandravanshi has alleged that in the Baiga dominated area, only formality is being done in the name of health camps. Proper health facilities are not available, only initial treatment is being done and serious patients are being referred to Kawardha or Raipur. Even there, patients are losing their lives due to lack of treatment.

Even after widespread diarrhea, the Baiga tribals are forced to drink water from the crevices. Although the administration has banned drinking water from wells and crevices, there is no provision for pure drinking water in the villages till date. An alternative arrangement for supplying water from a tank has been made in a hurry today in a locality of Sarenda, but they are supplying water containing worms, mud and moss without cleaning the tank.
