Korba, CG: In a tragic incident in the wee hours of Monday, 7 people on board a bus died after it rammed into a stationary trailer in Korba district of CG, police said. The dead include 3 men, 2 women and two children. More than 12 have been injured out of which those critical are been treated at Korba district Hospital the police added.
According to information by the police, the bus was heading to Sitapur from Raipur and the accident took place at 4 am early morning. The incident took place near Madai ghat on National Highway 130 under Bango PS of Korba.
Superintendent of police, Korba, Santosh Singh, in a statement said the bus driver was arrested after the incident. He added that the collision occurred in an attempt by the driver to avert the collision.
Chhattisgarh chief minister Bhupesh Baghel expressed his grief over the incident and instructed officials to provide treatment to the injured.
