Raipur: On Monday, 49 new cases of corona have been reported across the state. This is the highest number of corona patients within a day in the month of December. This increased rate of infection has raised the possibility of the presence of an Omicron variant. The health department is now going to send all the positive samples to Bhubaneswar for genome sequencing.
15 have been found from Raigarh district. 2 days ago, 13 children were found corona positive here. In Raipur 4 children have been corona infected. Contact tracing has revealed that the relatives of the children found positive were already infected. There is a stir in the health department after a large number of children got infected. Director of Epidemic Control Dr Subhash Mishra said, after a long time so many cases have been reported in any cluster. In such a situation, all the children found positive in Raigarh.
On Monday, 8 new cases were found positive in Bilaspur. This was the second-largest number in the state. 5 new patients have been found in =Janjgir-Champa districts. 4 new patients have been found in Durg and Surajpur and 3 in Kabirdham. On the other hand, 2 patients have been reported in Jashpur and one patient in Bastar district. Raipur ranks second with 64 patients and at present 345 corona patients are being treated across the state.
Raigarh district has the maximum number of 96 patients in the districts where the corona cases. Raipur ranks second with 64 patients. 42 patients are active in Bilaspur and 40 in the Durg district. The number of patients in Surajpur, Janjgir-Champa, Korba and Mahasamund also ranges from 12 to 17. There are only four districts where there is not a single case of corona as of now. These include Bemetara, Surguja, Balrampur and Narayanpur.
