Raipur: A Government Juvenile Home in Mana, Raipur reported 45 positive cases of COVID. The Juvenile Observation Home run by the state women and child welfare department houses nearly 150 adolescents out of which the healthy ones have been separated from those affected. Source’s report, provisions have been made for the positive children and have been isolated. “After conducting a Covid-test for all, the Observation Home was converted into an isolation centre. The care has been intensified and all are stable. A doctor and six nurses are deployed on regular duty at the centre now,” said Ashok Pandey, project officer, department of women and child development.
The authorities reported the detection of the infection to the Collector. On 3rd May, RT-PCR tests were conducted which detected 45 infected individuals. Following this, medical staff was appointed to assess the severity of the infection and necessary arrangements were made for isolation at the centre.
Centre officer Manish Soni stated, “all children are in good health and no one presents symptoms, we hope the isolation will also be completed in two to four days.”
As per sources, apart from the kids, 4 employees of the Juvenile home are also affected and being treated. Based on daily observation, doctors report the speedy recovery of the kids.
