Raipur: Regarding the notification of the supplementary exams, the Madhyamik Shiksha Mandal (MASHIM) has yet to make a public statement, which means that the future of over 40,000 students remains uncertain. The students who received supplementary results are concerned that they will be hindered from progressing to the next academic year.

Regarding the supplementary results in board examinations, in the Class 10 board examinations, 19,012 students got supplementary results; in the Class 12 board exams, the figure was 22,232. The outcomes of the first and second tests were made available on May 9. Unfortunately, MASHIM has not provided sufficient details to inform the public whether the body will administer the board or supplementary exams.

The Education Minister has earlier proposed that there will be two board exams for students of Board classes. On a related note, it is important to state that the dates for conducting different entrance tests have been announced, and the process of admission to colleges and universities has started. The stress level has risen, as well as uncertainty, partly because of the unclear schedule for the supplementary examinations announced by MASHIM.

This has triggered many concerns among students and parents as they fear their future. Several students have said that if they cannot take extra sessions, they may find themselves easily left behind regarding semester progression. This concern is especially critical for now active admission cycles for higher education institutions. If supplementary exams are deferred any further, the students get a chance of not being able to register for the next academic year which would mean wastage of one year.
