Raipur: Policemen in Chhattisgarh received their Diwali gifts in form of promotion by the state government. At the behest of CM Bhupesh Baghel, sipahis in Chhattisgarh police will be now promoted to the rank of constable whereas constables will be promoted to become Assistant Sub-Inspectors (ASI). Director-General of Police, DM Awasthi informed that the promotion process has been completed. Such a large number of promotions would lead to better policing and expedited investigations.
The DGP said that from across all the districts of the state, 2952 sepoys have been found eligible for promotion to the rank of constable and 865 constables for ASI. Thus, about 4000 such policemen from across the state got their Diwali present in the form of promotions. Out of the total, 865 police personnel found eligible for the post of ASI from the constable, 190 policemen have been found eligible in the Raipur range, 146 in Durg range, and 124 in Bilaspur range, 98 in Surguja range, and 307 in Bastar range.
Out of the total 2952 policemen found qualified for the post of Constable, 180 in Raipur district, 95 in Baloda Bazar Bhatapara, 72 in Gariaband, 55 in Dhamtari, 50 in Mahasamund district, 24 in Government Railway Police, 6 in Police Training School Mana, 13 in Police Academy Chandrakhuri, 88 in Durg district, 45 in Bemetra, 30 in Balod, 93 in Rajnandgaon, 80 in Kabirdham, 61 in Bilaspur, 35 in Mungeli, 62 in Janjgir Champa, 55 in Raigad, 29 in Korba, 19 in Gourela Pendra Marwahi, 55 in Sarguja, 33 in Korea, 53 in Jashpur, 62 in Surajpur, 75 in Balrampur Ramanujganj, 6 in PTS Manpat, 217 in Jagdalpur, 198 in Kondagaon, 202 in Dantewada, 194 in Sukma, 242 in Kanker 309 Bijapur, 212 policemen in Narayanpur have been found suitable.
