BIJAPUR: 4 Naxals surrendered, three among them carrying cash rewards before the police in CG’s insurgency-hit Bijapur an official said on Friday.
The Naxalites quit the Maoist movement owing to the hollow ideology and discriminatory behavior, an official said. The surrendered Naxals are said to have charges against arson, attack on police teams, and murders.
The surrendered Naxalites were identified as Rakesh Madvi alias Jogi Madvi(33) was a part of the organization since 2015 and carried a bounty of Rs 5lakh. Dula Poonem(34) was admitted to the Bal Sangham in 2003 and carried a reward of Rs 2 Lakh. Somaru alias Kishore Karam (26) another Naxal who joined the organization in 2006 carried a reward of Rs 5 lakh. Suresh Madvi alias Sukka (24) did not carry any reward however was wanted in several attacks.
As per the state government’s surrender and rehabilitation policy, necessary assistance will be provided to them, an official said. It is believed the surrendered Naxals will be given Rs 10,000.
