Pratapgarh: Four persons have been detained in neighbouring Pratapgarh district on Thursday in connection with the killing of a constable, who was posted at Chhattisgarh. The slain constable, identified as Sanjay Yadav (27), a resident of Gauri Ka Purva (Maheshganj), Pratapgarh, had come to his native town on leave.
The detained persons were identified as Arun Yadav alias Dawloo, Kuldeep Yadav, Pintoo Yadav, and Prem Chandra Yadav, residents of Gauri Ka Purwaand Bahorikpur, respectively.
Pratapgarh police said the slain constable along with his four friends had gone for dinner at a local dhaba located near Athar petrol pump under the limits of Kunda police station, on Wednesday night, where he was allegedly thrashed and assaulted by his friends.
The injured constable was immediately taken to Kunda CHC where doctors declared him brought dead. Police claimed to have detained two persons on spot while two others were detained on Thursday morning. Police also said cops are quizzing the detained persons to find out reason behind the killing.
