KABIRDHAM: In a tragic accident that took place in the wee hours of the morning on Friday, 4 died and several were injured as their car fell into a gorge in Kabirdham district. Overall, 8 passengers were present in the car out of which 4 dead included 3 women.
The vehicle was coming from Pragyaraj, where they had gone for the immersion of mortal remains of their deceased family member, Kabirdham Additional Superintendent of Police Manisha Thakur said.
Preliminary reports indicate the driver dozed off and lost control of the vehicle and the car fell into a 50 feet deep gorge at around 1 am at the at Polmi Ghati under Kukdur police station limits. On receiving the information about the accident, emergency forces were engaged immediately. Three died on the spot while on passed away while on the way to the hospital.
A case has been filed against the driver and further probe is underway.
