SUKMA: In what comes as a big success to the CRPF and the state police is the surrender of 34 maoists in the naxal dominated region Sukma. According to sources, four of those who surrendered, identified as Dirdo Muda, Hidma and Vajaam Hidma, Madvi Naga, carried a bounty of Rs 1 lakh each.

The surrender comes only three days after the CRPF and Chhattisgarh Police established a camp in Dubbarnarka.

Out of the four reward carrying Naxals, was Madvi Naga- a Janmilitia Commander who had joined the Maoist party in 2016. He was reportedly very active in Chintalnar and Jagargunda region.

The Naxalites turned themselves in before police during a ‘Jan Darshan’ programme organised on Tuesday at Dabbamarka camp in the district, Sukma Superintendent of Police Sunil Sharma said. He added that they claimed to be disappointed by the ‘hollow’ ideologies of their banned outfit and laid down the arms to join the mainstream.

Those who surrendered were allegedly involved in several incidents in the past in Kistaram area in Sukma district, the he added.
