Raipur: 3 persons were killed and 2 others injured in a collision between their SUV and a truck in Raigarh district, Chhattisgarh. As per a police official, the accident took place near Lauharsingha village on Wednesday night, when the victims were returning from a wedding in the Kirodimal Nagar area.

They were natives of Bargarh district in the neighboring state Odisha.

After buying food from a roadside eatery, the victims had been heading towards Kodhatarai village, where they have left 3 other occupants of the SUV, said the police official. “At that time, the SUV collided with a truck and overturned. Three SUV occupants died on the spot and two others were injured, one of them critically” – added the official.

The deceased have been identified as Krishna Patel (27), Swarup Badhai (32), and Vikas Mahto (35). After the autopsy, the dead bodies were handed over to the families of the deceased. The injured passengers were admitted to a hospital, and they are undergoing treatment. 

The truck was seized by the police. The truck-driver ran away from the spot of the collision after the accident; the police have registered a case against the escaped driver.
