Raipur: Silger firing in Chhattisgarh has completed two years, and the people of the area have been demanding compensation to the relatives of the deceased and an inquiry into the matter. Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has also given his statement regarding this matter after talking to the villagers.
After the conversation, CM Baghel revealed that the compensation paid to the villagers will be confiscated by the Naxalites and if villagers accept government jobs, Naxalites will kill them. The chief minister also added that some other negotiations have taken place which shall remain confidential.
CM Baghel has also directed an investigating team comprising of MP Deepak Baij, MLA Vikram Mandavi, and other leaders to the spot. The meeting with villagers and the investigating team continued for three hours in the presence of Excise Minister Kawasi Lakhma.
In May 12, 2021, a camp if security forces were located in Silger on the border of the Sukma and Bijapur districts. Since the morning of May 13, thousands of villagers had gathered here to remove the camp. Meanwhile, there was a violent clash between villagers and security forces killing 3 people and a pregnant woman lost life due to a stampede.
