Korba, CG: In a horrendous incident in Korba, CG, a brother chopped his sister with an axe and fled the spot leaving behind his sister in a pool of blood. The incident is reported from the Chaitma chowki region in Korba.
On preliminary investigation, it is learnt that the accused identified as Chetram Pando had gone to visit his sister-victim Geeta Pando and her husband Madad Ram. The sister who resided in the same village allegedly had an argument with the brother which snowballed into a major confrontation. Following which the brother axed her. The postmortem report revealed that the victim was axed several times in the neck. The lady died on the spot until her husband rushed to help her out.
Police officials have begun investigating the case and have issued a lookout notice for the accused on the run.
