Raipur. Welcoming the surrender of 21 Naxalites active in the Antagarh region, Deputy Chief Minister and Home Minister Vijay Sharma reiterated his commitment to end Naxalism by the stipulated time (March 2026). He stated that the Prime Minister had issued a call. The central team has acted on the guidance of Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai. The armed forces have also acted.
Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma said that 21 Naxalites have been rehabilitated with weapons. These include 13 women and 8 men. A total of 18 weapons, including 3 AK-24s, 2 INSAS rifles, rifles, and launchers, have also been recovered from the Naxalites. Four of them are DVCM-level Naxalites. I welcome the surrender of the Naxalites. These individuals saved hundreds of lives.
The Home Minister stated that recently, 210 Naxalites were rehabilitated, leaving behind 129 weapons. The rehabilitation of 21 individuals has clarified the situation in the West Bastar region. This is evident when Chhattisgarh and Maharashtra are included. This is the use of the term rehabilitation. After rehabilitation, you should surrender your weapons. We should work together with Bastar. He reiterated that the armed forces will perform their duties with full force.
Regarding the destruction of the statue of Chhattisgarh Mata by unknown persons, Vijay Sharma said that it is a matter of concern. The police are investigating the matter. Taking a dig at the Congress party’s statement on this matter, he said, “What do the Italians have to do with India? Take a look at yourselves, then talk.”
