Janjgir: A bus full of police personnel was hit by a truck in Shivrinarayan area of Chhattisgarh today morning. While 20 police personnel including 8 women constables have were injured in the accident, the rest troopers suffered minor injuries only. All the injured have been taken to the nearest primary health care center in Birra and have been further shifted to Shivnarayan Hospital.
Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel inquired about the well-being of the injured police personnel on a call with the Bilaspur Range IG on phone and has given instructions for better treatment of them. Meanwhile, CM Baghel has also canceled his planned visit to Janjgir today due to bad weather conditions. It is reported that all the police personnel was going to perform the duty for the chief minister’s program to be held in Mohtra village of Malkharoda.
Sources reveal that the accident occurred when the truck driver slept while driving. The bus driver had anticipated the accident after seeing the truck coming in an uncontrolled manner and stopped the bus some distance before. The truck driver has been injured too and has been given first aid.
