Surajpur: Two men died and three were injured on Monday in a lightning incident in Surajpur police said on Tuesday.
Lightening struck Nandlal Paikra (27) and Sanjay Yadav (25), natives of nearby Toni village, who were returning home from Pratappur market when heavy rainfall started, a police official said.
Primary investigation into the incident revealed the deceased took shelter below a tree in Khajuri village and lightning struck them suddenly.
Three others including the shop owner suffered injuries and they were shifted to a local hospital for treatment, he said.
