MAHASAMUND: In a significant breakthrough, the Mahasamund Police arrested two peddlers with a huge cache of Ganja worth Rs 2.10 crore.

Acting on a tip-off, the Saraipalli police team launched a vehicle checking drive and nabbed the accused red-handed while they were coming from Paterapali road. The arrested have been identified as Pappu Pal 35 and Liladhar Pal 33, both residents of Panna District, MP.

During the search launched on interception, 10 quintals 50 kgs of Ganja was found in the truck that carried watermelons. Preliminary investigations revealed the illicit drug was being sent to Orissa from MP.

A case was registered under the NDPS Act. Police are now interrogating the accused duo about the source and the delivery point of this drug.
