Bastar: Yuvraj Singh a 13-year-old boy from Bastar won the bronze medal for India, in the 71 kg category of the IFMA (International Federation of Muay Thai) championship hosted in Malaysia Kuala Lumpur from August 9 to 20.
After overcoming competitors from nations like Brazil and England in the ring, Yuvraj advanced to the semifinals. In the third round of the semi-final match, Yuvraj was defeated by the Uzbekistan Player.
Yuvraj stated after the match that “it was an honor for me to compete in the World Muay Thai Championship on behalf of my nation. Each game is a unique experience. I gained new knowledge about the game we won and new experiences in the game we lost. I didn’t win the gold this time but I’m glad to bring the bronze medal to the nation. I’ll work hard for the next time, and I’ll make sure to bring home the gold.”
Yuvraj, a citizen of Jagdalpur studies in 9th grade in Deepti Convent School. His father is a contractor. At the age of 7, Yuvraj love for WWE helped him to initiate his training in wrestling, but over time Yuvraj developed a passion for combat sports and later began training for the MyauThai championship. After taking 3 years of professional coaching, at the age of 10, Yuvraj played the first state-level match of the Muay Thai game. Followed the tips given by coach Abdul Moin, he became the state champion.
