Jashpur,CG: A 12-year-old minor was gang-raped by 4 men in the Jashpur district of Chhattisgarh. The medical reports of the victim confirmed gang rape and all four accused; Ramjeet, Paras, Naresh, and Sanjay have been arrested by the Police. The victim was allegedly raped by 4 men in a forest on July 9 in Ghoghra region.
When the rape incident came to light, the accused tried to curtail their act with the assistance of Village Council Heads. In the meeting called by the Council heads in their village, the accused were asked for a sum of Rs. 1 Lakh to put an end to the matter. All 4 accused accepted the proposal and deposited Rs. 10000 initially while the remaining 90000 were due on Wednesday.
The victim and her family were stunned when they came to know about the settlement with the accused. On receiving the information about this incident, Kansabel Police came into action and arrested the culprits. The Police is investigating the matter further and have assured appropriate proceedings against the accused.
