Raipur: Traffic police and the transport department inspected school buses transporting students on Saturday and Sunday. Out of 550 buses, more than 100 were found to have technical flaws. Instructions have been given to remove them. It is reported that many school management has not had their buses inspected. Such schools have been warned that the concerned buses will be blacklisted. The transport department has also prepared a list of about 300 buses that were not brought to Pandri bus stand for inspection. The camp will continue on 19-20 June as well.
According to Additional Superintendent of Police Traffic Dr. Prashant Shukla, it has been learnt that educational institutions in Raipur district have 900 buses. About 550 buses were checked last Saturday and Sunday. The school management has been given two days to get 300 to 350 buses checked.
If the checking is not done at the bus stand within two days, action will be taken. It is suspected that the buses are not being checked due to technical faults and lack of documents and school children are being transported through them. In the coming days, the police and the transport department will check school buses on the roads. Action will also be taken if any technical fault is found.
