Bastar: In a tragic incident that took place on Sunday in the Bastar district of Chhattisgarh, the bus carrying 36 police personnel heading for poll duty was overturned, resulting in the injuries of 10 police personnel from Madhya Pradesh. The incident took place when the security personnel were traveling from Faraspal to Gariband in the Mahasamund parliamentary constituency, which will go to the polls on April 26. The accident took place near Raikot village on Geedam-Jagdalpur road under Geedam police station limits, the official said.
Earlier, it was told by the local police official that the injured pertained to the CRPF, but later, Jagdalpur’s senior police official confirmed that the injured personnel belonged to the Madhya Pradesh police. “At least 10 personnel sustained injuries in the accident. Of which five were admitted to the hospital while the others were discharged after being administered preliminary treatment,” the police said.
