Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is optimistic about a positive result in the Bihar Assembly elections and therefore, they had earlier ordered 501 kilograms of laddoos in anticipation of the vote counting, which is set to take place on Friday. The enormity of the gestation shows the confidence of the party since the projections of exit polls have shown overwhelmingly in favour of the NDA government in the state.
The two round polling took place on November 6 and 11 and the results were to be announced on November 14. The state of Bihar had a great voter turnout of 66.91 which was the best in the electoral history of the state since 1951. According to BJP workers, the massive turn up of voters was an indication that the people had faith in the developmental activities and governance of the NDA.
BJP worker Krishna Kumar Kallu told PTI, that on counting day, NDA will hold celebrations of Holi, Dussehra, Diwali, and Eid together since the people have given their vote in favor of our development agenda. He mentioned that the 501 kg of the laddoos have been ordered as the party supporters and the population to distribute the laddoos as prasad as soon as party results are announced.
A sweet maker in Patna confirmed that the order was made by BJP workers and the laddoos would be delivered in the morning of November 14, which, in turn, could be distributed during the expected celebrations in the offices of the party in Bihar.
Nonetheless, the RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav rejected the BJP celebrations and doubted the effectiveness of exit polls arguing that there were various forecasts that were conducted at the instruction of the top leadership of BJP to shape the minds of the people. Yadav was confident that the people of Bihar will be the true judges of the truth, not tampered polls.
However, with Bihar waiting to count on the counting day, the countdowns have gained momentum in both alliances namely the NDA and the Mahagathbandhan led by RJD with political tension and excitement prevailing in the state.
