Three army personnel died, and five others were injured on Tuesday morning in Subansiri district, Arunachal Pradesh, where a truck carrying the security forces skidded off the road and fell into a gorge. The incident occurred at 6 a.m. on the trans-Arunanchal highway near Tapi village. The vehicle, among a group conveying troops from Daporijo to Basar in the Leparada district, flipped off the road in an unknown manner.
These have been revealed to be Havildar Nakhat Singh, Naik Mukesh Kumar, and Grenadier Ashish Kumar. Apart from the couple, the accident also took the lives of several people and injured others. People from the area reacted quickly to the situation. They became essential in the process of evacuation of the wounded as well as identifying and returning the bodies of the deceased soldiers.
The Indian Army’s eastern command said it was shocked and saddened by the tragedy and offered its condolences. A statement posted on X read, “Lt Gen RC Tiwari and all ranks express deepest condolences on the sad demise of Bravehearts Hav Nakhat Singh, Nk Mukesh Kumar, and Gdr Ashish, who made the supreme sacrifice in the line of duty in Arunachal Pradesh for the nation. We stand with the families of the martyrs. ”
The Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh, Pema Khandu, also expressed his condolence for the sad demise of three ADGPI personnel, namely Havildar Nakhat Singh, Naik Mukesh Kumar, and Grenadier Ashish Kumar, who met a tragic accident near Tapi in Upper Subansiri District, stating it was very painful and their services offered for the nation and their supreme sacrifice will always be remembered in high esteem.
The incident has created condolence in the affected sub and the entire nation through the burial of such heroic soldiers. Some of the rescue operations were difficult due to areas of steep incline, but the general public reacted in a manner that helped contain the aftermath of the accident in a big way.
