In the very first week of April, the recruitment process for 16,347 teachers of the District Selection Committee (DSC) will commence, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu said on Tuesday. The Chief Minister, speaking at the third collectors’ conference held at the state secretariat, said there will be a need to complete the recruitment process before the reopening of schools for the next academic year in June should be swift and efficient.
The mega DSC notification will be issued in the first week of April. Naidu added that recruitment for the process should start in April and be completed in time for school reopening with the needed training for the newly recruited teachers.
The Chief Minister noted that this recruitment drive is amongst the government’s moves to develop the education sector so that schools reopen with qualified teachers. The other hint he gave was toward an important change in the recruitment process — chances of Scheduled Castes (SCs) subcategorisation being incorporated under categories a, b, c and d.
The state government has already submitted the one-man commission report in regard to SC to the central government and other relevant stakeholders, Naidu said. He, however, affirmed that based on feedback received from the Centre and these stakeholders, the state will proceed in line with promises that were made during the run-up of the 2024 elections.
Chief Minister’s announcement has brought hope among aspiring teachers of the state as it not only offers a huge employment opportunity but also pays attention to inclusivity and educational progress of the state. Andhra Pradesh’s coming mega DSC recruitment is expected to bring in a pool of qualified educators to get equipped into the system of its schools.
