On Wednesday, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu declared that during the last 16 months, welfare pensions worth 48,019 crore were given to the beneficiaries. Naidu, addressing a mass assembly in the village of Datti, on the occasion of the distribution of NTR Bharosa pensions, pointed out that the NDA administration pays approximately 2,745 crore every month to 63.5 lakh people. He further stated that, though one may miss a two-month pension, it is compensated by the next month, and no one is excluded as a beneficiary.

Other welfare initiatives were also expounded by Naidu. He commended the Stree Shakti free bus transport system to women, which allowed 10 crore rides within 45 days. “I recommend that women use Stree Shakti according to their needs. It is 247 crore per month that the government is spending on this, and it is a game-changer,” he said. He also declared that he will give 15,000 each to 2.9 lakh auto-rickshaw drivers in the scheme of Auto Driver Sevalo beginning on October 4.

Concerning jobs, Naidu stressed that the government has the role of creating employment opportunities amongst the youth. The state has received investments of 10 lakh crore, which is set to generate nine lakh jobs. In 15 months of his government, we have already given employment to 4.7 lakh individuals, he added.

According to Naidu, welfare schemes are helping every household by about 2.2 lakh in Datti village alone. He even said that he was going to do unannounced visits to check the efficiency of government machinery. He also promised to build six lakh welfare homes before June 2026, and three lakh housewarming ceremonies before Diwali.

Putting emphasis on electricity, irrigation, and industrial reforms, Naidu pointed out that the government is lowering power bills, fundamentally finalising North Andhra irrigation projects at 2,000 crore investment and saving Visakhapatnam Steel Plant privatisation.
