During an election campaign in Haryana, Union Home Minister Amit Shah targeted the previous Congress government, following the words of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Shah claimed that during the Congress regime, ‘dealers, dalaals (brokers), and damaad (sons-in-law)” dominated this state before BJP came to power. Listing the BJP’s accomplishments, Shah said that the BJP government in Haryana had brought an end to the wastes that India’s oldest political party – Congress – was known for: cuts, commissions, and corruption.

“Congress also ruled the country with the help of dealers,dalals and damads. ”Neither brokers or dealers are in power organisations now and as you know there is no question of any son in law having influence,” Shah said at a rally in Rewari, speaking to voters regarding the Haryana state assembly polls.

Amit Shah again trained his guns on Rahul Gandhi saying the Congress leader was misleading farmers on the MSP (Minimum Support Price) question. Shah further accused Rahul Gandhi who had recently addressed on MSP saying that the latter even does not know how farming is done. “Rahul Baba doesn’t know the difference between Rabi and Kharif crops,” Shah quipped. He also accused Congress of resorting tobhuljanebazi and misleading the farmers stating that the BJP government in Haryana is procuring 24 crops at MSP and asked which Congress government was procuring the crops in the past.

In his stepped up barbs against the Congress president, Shah focused on Rahul Gandhi’s recent statement on reservation while in America. Shah said Rahul Gandhi is creating sections states in other countries that he wants to eliminate the provision of reservation in jobs and admissions SC ST OBC.
