Poonch: Home Minister Amit Shah spoke at a gathering in the Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday. He mentioned that peace has been maintained at the borders because of Pakistan’s concerns about Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership qualities. Shah expressed his support for BJP candidate Murtaza Khan while emphasizing the developments in the area following the BJPs rise to power.
In his address, Shah praised the BJP government for tackling terrorism in the region and highlighted how violence and turmoil have been replaced with technological opportunities for young people. He stressed the transition from weapons and conflict to empowering youth with laptops, underscoring the government’s dedication to creating an atmosphere.
Shah also mentioned intentions to build bunkers along the borders for the protection of the residents. He reminisced about the border shootings during the 1990s and commented on the current situation by saying, “Are there any cross border firings happening today? No. It’s because past leaders were wary of Pakistan. Now its Pakistan who is cautious of Modi. If they decide to initiate firing they will face a response.”
Amit Shah’s current election campaign includes a series of rallies across Jammu and Kashmir lasting three days. He is set to speak at four rallies in places like Surankote and Thanamandi, among others, in addition to the ongoing event here today. The upcoming election holds importance for this region as it signifies the first assembly poll after the revocation of Article 370, and the states split into two.
