Lucknow: In the conversation, Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Akhilesh Yadav said that the consolidation of the INDI Alliance could break history in the upcoming elections in Haryana. He laid down the assertion that this is the time political parties in India should think beyond individual party’s benefit in order to vanquish the self-proclaimed ‘crooked and selfish politics’ of BJP. Yadav said that this was the political platform of his party, the SP, promising to support whoever in the INDI Alliance is capable of defeating the BJP’s negative communal and divide politics in the State.

Yadav’s statement came in right at the time of the commencement of talks between Congress and other partners of the alliance for the Haryana assembly elections. According to sources, the negotiations that are currently ongoing are intense, especially on the issue of the division of seats.

On X (previously Twitter), Yadav posted a message addressed to the INDI Alliance members, urging them to focus more on the collective cause, be selfless, and not pursue leadership positions. “This is not the time for the SP or any other party in the INDIA bloc to look for political gains,” he said. He emphasized the virtue of sacrifice, saying, “It is a time for sacrifice and selflessness. ” He further clarified that there is no place for selfishness in the path of public welfare, saying that the SP is ready to make every sacrifice in the interest of Haryana.

Akhilesh Yadav was hopeful about the success of the INDI Alliance in the Haryana polls and insistently affirmed to the gathering and media that he and his alliance partners were not concerned with merely winning the seats but bringing actual development in the state and providing relief to the tortured populace. In his opinion, Haryana has gone two steps back in the last decade of the BJP’s rule in the state. This is not about contesting in a few seats but about understanding the difficult situation of the people and liberating them from the clutches of BJP’s corrupt and exploitative politics, he further said.
