Recently, in Andhra Pradesh, East Godavari district, in the small hours of Wednesday, a tragic incident occurred when a mini truck which they were traveling fell, resulting in seven laborers’ demise and another two getting injured. As highlighted by the police, the sad event occurred around 2:00 a.m. at Chilakavaripakalu village on the Aripatidibbalu-Chinnaigudem road.

The deceased were seven staffing Deva Bhatula Bureya (40), Tamireddy Sathyanarayana (45), P Chinamusalayya (35), Katava Krishna (40), Katava Sathipandu (40), Tadi Krishna (45), and Bokka Prasad (40) out of which all are from Tadimalla village. DSP Deva Kumar further revealed that nine persons were found crammed in the truck. As the vehicle approached Chilakavaripakalu village, the driver was said to have suddenly failed to control the steering; the truck rolled over the road. The seven laborers were clearing the remnants of the enormous cashew nut bags that fell on them, killing all of them instantly. Two others were injured, but his lives were saved after sustaining various degrees of injuries in the accident. The DSP said the truck driver escaped the scene immediately after the mishap.

The injured people were immediately shifted to Nidadavole Government Hospital for treatment. Police have opened a case and are investigating the circumstances that led to the envisaged mishap while plans are trying to locate the missing driver.

The loss of lives in this tragedy was condemned by the chief minister of N Chandrababu Naidu, who condemned the incident and consoled the families who lost their loved ones. he also instructed the medical officials to offer the best medical treatment to the patients who sustained different degrees of injuries. He went further to assure the victims’ families that the state government would provide for the family’s needs during this hard time.
