NEW DELHI: The Secretary of WFI has been instructed to hand over the official documents including website management, financial instruments, login details for making entries for the participation of Indian sportspersons in international events, etc., to the Ad hoc Committee With the new directive, the outgoing office bearers shall have no role in running the federation. The WFI has agreed to oblige by the order.

An order was issued by the IOA Joint Secretary and Acting CEO Kalyan Chaubey on Monday. “With the Ad hoc Committee being in existence, the outgoing office bearers of the WFI shall have no role with respect to the exercise of any function of the NSF for the discipline of Wrestling and shall not perform any administrative, financial, regulatory or any other role,” said the IOA letter, which has also been marked to the ministry and the WFI secretary general.

The new ad-hoc committee now has the autonomous power to run the office of the National Sports Federation. It will oversee day to day affairs of the WFI and also conduct polls at the NSF. The committee was formed at the behest of the Sports Ministery after elite grapplers of Indis resumed their protests against the WFI chief alleging sexual harassment.
