Ahead of the second ODI against England in Bhubaneswar, India’s team arrived on Friday for a grand and enthusiastic reception and a second ODI with England at Barabati Stadium in Cuttack on Sunday. There was an electrifying atmosphere at Biju Patnaik International Airport as fans and media personnel and officials of the Odisha Cricket Association (OCA) in huge numbers waited to welcome the players. Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma received a grand welcome along with the team.

When the team arrived at their hotel, a special red carpet was set for them. A traditional folk dance performance was also organized to welcome the Men in Blue, making the occasion extra special.

The Indian batting superstar Virat Kohli had the loudest rounds of cheers. When he walked out on the red carpet, the fans began to chant his name, loving him and never failing to support him. Kohli smiled, acknowledging love as his supporters were further pleased.

The warmth of these two moments was provided by a senior hotel staff member who warmly hugged Virat Kohli. Before going in, he exchanged pleasantries with the former Indian captain. Rohit Sharma also paused in front of those same staff members before going in and received an enthusiastic welcome.

The team will now be keen to carry on its winning spirit and clinch the three-match series in Cuttack after taking a 1-0 lead in the first ODI in Nagpur. England will want to bounce back but will be desperate to level the series and play for a decider in the third match.

Bhubaneswar has created a very high energy welcome for the match, which – fans will hope for another exciting chess between two cricketing giants.
