Adelaide, Australia: The spirit of Team India seems to be indomitable in the ongoing t20 World Cup. Though they lost the last match against South Africa, there is no looking back after their victorious win against Bangladesh in today’s match. India won by 5 wickets today even though rain played spoilsport in between!
After winning the toss, Bangladesh chose to field. Soon after, India lost the wicket of skipper Rohit Sharma. Not deemed by the spirit, other players scored well including Virat Kohli’s 64 not out, KL Rahul’s 50, and Suryakumar Yadav’s 30 which led India to score 184 runs in 20 overs. However, Bangladesh also started fairly well during the initial overs.
Their openers Najmul Hossain Shanto and Litton Das were on fire as they scored 21 and 60 respectively. But then the rain stopped the match for some time. Post the rain interval, when the match resumed, the revised target as per the Duckworth Lewis method for the Bangladesh team was 151 in 16 overs against the original set target of 185 in 20 overs.
But as they played a few overs before the rain stopped the match, they needed another 85 runs in 9 overs to win the match. However, they kept losing wickets thereafter. And lastly they lost to India by 5 wickets. India’s bowling line was very well set for the match and Arshdeep Singh and Hardik Pandya took two wickets each while Shami got one.
