Mumbai: The Mumbai police raided the Dragonfly Club located near the airport at 2 AM on Tuesday. Notably, the Maharashtra state government has implemented a curfew between 11 PM and 6 AM in Mumbai, which is to be enforced everyday till January 5.
The enforced norms allow essential services like the supply of milk or vegetable during the curfew, but it does not allow more than 5 people to gather at a place.
Violating the norms implemented by the state, the club was kept open beyond the permissible time, while having around 30 people partying inside.
The Mumbai police booked 34 people during the raid, including 7 staff members, and 27 customers. Singer Guru Randhawa, Team India Cricketer Suresh Raina, and Actor Hritik Roshan’s former wife Sussanne Khan were also present at the club and were booked with the others.
According to an official, “Case has been filed against the 34 people under Indian Penal Code Section 188 (Disobedience to order duty promulgated by public servant), Section 269 (Whoever unlawfully or negligently does any act which is, and which he knows or has reason to believe to be), likely to spread the infection of any disease dangerous to life), and Section 34 (Acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention). They have also been booked under sections of the Disaster Management Act”.
