Sports: Former Indian Captain Sourav Ganguly has been admitted to the Woodlands Hospital after suffering from a mild cardiac arrest on Saturday morning. According to the sources, Dada’s physical condition is stable now, but he is likely to undergo an angioplasty, and the next line of action will be decided after his reports come out.
“He had a family history of IHD 0E Ischemic heart disease. When he came to the hospital at 1 PM, his clinical parameters were within normal limits”, said Dr. Rupali Basu, MD and CEO of Woodlands Hospital. She further added, “His ECG showed hyperacute ST-segment elevation in inferior leads and lateral leads. Echo showed mild inferior wall hypokinesia with preserved overall left ventricular function. He is stable hemodynamically. He has received loading doses of dual antiplatelets and statin and is undergoing primary angioplasty now”.
The Chief Minister of West Bengal Mamata Banerjee has taken to her Twitter handle to wish ‘Maharaj’ a ‘speedy and full recovery’. “Sad to hear that @SGanguly99 suffered a mild cardiac arrest and has been admitted to hospital. Wishing him a speedy and full recovery. My thoughts and prayers are with him and his family!” – tweeted Banerjee.
Captain Virat Kohli has also posted on his Twitter handle expressing his prayers for Maharaj’s speedy recovery, writing – “Praying for your speedy recovery. Get well soon @SGanguly99.”
