The BCCI in a surprising announcement on Wednesday banned senior journalist Boria Majumdar for 2 years for intimidating Wridhhiman Saha. In an interview, the veteran wicketkeeper alleged that the journalist had intimidated him. In a discussion held early their year with the cricket body Saha disclosed all details sources said. “I have told the committee everything I know. I have shared all the details with them. I can’t tell you much right now. BCCI has asked me not to talk about the meeting outside as they will answer all your queries,” Saha told reporters after appearing before the committee in New Delhi. A three-member committee was constituted to probe the allegations levelled by the cricketer.
The order released by BCCI stated that Majumdar was banned from getting accreditations as a member of the press in any format of cricket in India. It further mentioned that he was banned from interviewing any registered player in India for the above-said duration.
It all started when the centrally contracted player in a series of posts on Twitter made the charges following which the BCCI had begun probing.
